The National Championship of Poker Heads-Up Poker is a tournament held annually in the United States of America, involving 64 players playing a poker game series one-on-one No Limit Hold'em until one player wins the title champion National Champion in the United States of Heads-Up.
The idea for the tournament was created from the success of The World Heads-Up Poker Championship, held annually in Barcelona, although only a world champion Headsup (Cernuto John "Miami") competed in the National Championship of Poker Heads up to date . The National Heads-Up Poker Championship is an invitation-only event, but in contrast, World Championship Heads Up Poker is an open event with a maximum participation of 128 players. The 2005 event took place at Golden Nugget Las Vegas between 4 and 6 March. Tranmit weekly on NBC's 1-22 May with comments from Gabe Kaplan and Matt Vasgersian. The 2006 edition was held 4-6 at Harrah's Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Initially, NBC began its coverage by broadcasting.
